Avoid .TEL search engines that use Google

There are more and more so called ‘dot TEL’ search engines coming every day.
But avoid the ones that use Google!
Like http://www.dottel411.com and http://www.dottelfinder.com/
Dottel411.COM claims BIG that: “This .TEL Directory Has EVERY Tel Home Page.”

They both use Google custom search.
Unfortunate they don’t find: http://www.KonaCoffee.TEL and http://www.Kona-Coffee.TEL
When searching for: kona coffee.

Pretty useless these Google related engines so to say. It’s probably Google who is boycotting these dotTEL’s already because they like you to pay for their ads. The keyword “Kona Coffee” costs per click are around $ 5 - $ 8 on Google Ad words. Now that TEL’s a story!

The only .TEL searchengine that works without greed so far is.
http://www.jepaa.com. GOOD JOB!

Now don’t come up with the excuse that Google has not indexed these yet.
Both my .TEL’s have been on the web since May and June and were immediately populated for use, before I bought many other .TEL that are out there. No excuses!

do you think that jeepa has plans to monetize in the future?


i can remember years ago when there were many dot come search engines and i could never understand how anyone could offer such a service and still make money.... i scratched my head for years and now google has made it really clear how they make money and LOTS of it.... If jeepa can keep up i wish them success in their effort.... (every backlink helps)....

I tried your test below with http://www.dottel411.com and the search results that i get for Kona Coffee are:

royalkonacoffee.tel
instantcoffee.konacoffee.tel
konacoffee.tel
coffeepods.tel
kona.tel



Jeepaa gives:

konacoffee.tel
coffeepods.tel
kona-coffee.tel
instantcoffee.konacoffee.tel
instant-coffee.tel

so i am not sure that that is really a big difference.... if anything the first one seemed to get Kona.tel that has Kona in the title and kona coffee in the content while jepaa gave me instant-coffee.tel which has kona coffee in the content but not the title... i assume you must be from jepaa since this is your only post, so i might suggest that jepaa polish up their SE if they are going to compete with google... IMHO

Thanks for the test.

1.) I am not with Jepaa or have shares in that company, but it was indeed my first post on this forum because I just got involved with dottel domains (Is everybody who posts for the first time on this forum being accused/scrutinized for being related to a company?).
2.) Are you guys with Google or have shares?
3.) IMHO a GOOD telephone directory should list anyone with its name / product in the domain name, preferably in alphabetical order. Full stop. After that it should list entrees that have the search query in the title and/or content/keywords. (Why list your name / major product under the keywords and/or title when it is already clearly stated in the domain name?)
4.) How would you feel about being the owner of “KonaCoffee.TEL” (or any other name) and the domain does not show in a dotTel directory when customers search for “KonaCoffee” or “Kona Coffee” in Google related TEL search engines. Especially when you use a TEL search engine like DotTel411 that now claims “find anyone”. They removed their BIG head line claim…“This .TEL Directory Has EVERY Tel Home Page.”.. after my complaint… and my complaint in their forum! But they still claim “Find any one”! But still not “KonaCoffee.TEL since it was bought and populated in May 09. So, until then I suggest everyone to use http://www.Jepaa.com
5.) I don’t mind if Jepaa monetizes their website with ads, but will the ads show on a mobile device/mobile format? (http://www.jepaa.MOBI).
6.) Google related TEL engines might always be ‘manipulated’ by Googles secret search algorithm (also known as the monthly "google dance / musical chairs") to force businesses to use their time consuming and costly cost per click Google Adwords program to make their company known on Google searches. Got it?
7) Google and others started out small… so why should Jepaa not become successful with their way of doing business by beating others by providing a better quality service… they don’t have to polish up anything so far… but it the end they all become big, greedy and arrogant.

I think you sound a bit defensive Hutmaster.

Your same post showed up on several other sites that i own or manage, so yes, it would appear that you are doing some blackhat seo work for Jeepaa

the only reason that i would say black hat is that at the same day you started spamming the same message to every dot tel site that would take it someone also started creating backlinks to dotTel sites from art flick sites to lower their ranking. Not saying that is you, it was just a coincidence i am sure.

i do know one thing, when a company starts using BlackHat tactics they had better be sure that they have much more money and time than the people that they are attacking. while there are some people on the net just in it for the money, there are others that are simply in it for the enjoyment of creating something, and they have all the money they could ever need.

so if you feel that your posting the same post everywhere that would take it doesnt make it look like you were doing a little negative campaign, so be it, but that is what it looked like to me...

you are free to post whatever you feel like saying; however,

Being a new to TEL forums and to the dotTEL domains I posted my message on a few forums to point out the differences between Jepaa and Google related TEL search engines.
If someone wants to judge this information posted on 2 other forums as ‘spamming’ that’s fine with me…

Again I have no intention to promote Jepaa/others or to improve/lower their rankings neither do I work for them in any possible way.

I also want to confirm that I have nothing to do with the ‘flick art sites’ thing… what ever that might be.

I can now confirm that since August 15th 2009. Google related DOT TEL search engines will now finally display “KONACOFFEE.TEL” (see my findings and failed test by MsGuided/Admin).

Someone at Google must appreciate and read these forums and take action to fix shortcomings to stay competitive…

Is Admin/Forum Owner performing domain ownership searches and other investigations to find forum contributors real names and reveal their first names on the forum?

Unfortunately part of the JOB of moderating any forum is deleting the daily spam. most of it comes from russia.

Blackhat SEO has many methods. But even blackhatters prefer to simply raise their own rankings and look down upon attacks on other sites. For .tel to thrive keeping the focus on the positive will help us all. Attacking other sites and posting defamatory backlinks is a method that I hope that most would avoid. Your IP specifically posted several such backlinks on several sites that I own, so your darn right I am going to look up who you are. You might also notice that in the interest of free speech that you posts are still in place.

As far as "real names" many forums have chosen to go exactly that route as it places responsibility upon the poster to avoid libel, and this forum may follow suit shortly.
